Q: Do you have a minimum for your wedding orders?
We require a minimum investment of $1,000 for your wedding order. This is the average price for an order of 75-100 guests.
Q: What is needed to book with Violet Cake Co.?
A $500 non-refundable deposit and a signed contract are needed to secure your event on our calendar.
Q: Do you offer tastings?
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic we have opted for tasting boxes to-go. Boxes are $35 and contain 5 flavors of your choice from our current menu. They can be picked up on Saturdays between 11:30 am and 1 pm at Violet Cake Co.
Q: How far in advance should I order my cake?
We are a small operation and only take a limited number of wedding orders each weekend to make sure each cake gets the attention it deserves. We recommend confirming your order 6-9 months in advance. Some weekends are more popular and fill up early while others can be filled with less lead time. Inquire as soon as you have your date!
Q: Can you accommodate food allergies?
We use nuts, dairy, eggs, and gluten in most of our recipes.
Q: Are your cakes baked from scratch?
Of course! Our entire menu has been crafted from scratch with the best and most exciting flavors and ingredients to us.
Q: What kind of frosting do you use?
Our cakes are filled with super luxurious Swiss meringue buttercream or a delicious ganache.
Q: Do you travel outside of San Diego?
Yes! We can deliver a cake pretty much anywhere you want it. Beyond San Diego City Limits an additional mileage fee will be added.
Q: Do you do cakes for events other than weddings?
We do! However, we prioritize our wedding clients. If weekends are completely booked up with weddings we will not be able to accommodate birthdays, showers, or cakes for other events.
Q: Do you offer desserts other than cake?
We do offer a small menu of additional items that you may add to your cake order including cookies, cake pops and cupcakes.
