Once we have determined the starting direction of your custom cake, we will send a proposal for you to accept. A 50% retainer is required to book.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?
As early as possible. Wedding cakes can sometimes be booked 9 months to a year out so as soon as you are considering booking with us, send us an inquiry to check on your date. We also require a 2 week minimum to book.
DO YOU WEDDING CAKES ONLY?
About 70% of our business is in custom wedding cakes. The other 30% is a combination of hand decorated cookies & special ecvent cakes.
DO YOU MAKE GLUTEN-FREE, DAIRY-FREE OR VEGAN CAKES?
We do gluten free cakes. We do not do dairy-free or vegan cakes at this time.

HOW MUCH IS MY CAKE GOING TO COST?
We price all our cakes out individually, The cost will depend on the size and complexity of design.
Take a look at our investment page where we have cakes and prices listed. That will give you an idea.
WHAT FLAVORS DO YOU HAVE?
We have 16 delicious flavors. They are listed on our Flavors page. If the flavor you want is not on our Flavors list, let us know and we will bake your cake in that flavor for a nominal up charge.
HOW MANY WEDDING CAKES DO YOU DO PER DAY?
We do only 1 wedding cake per day. We believe our focus should be on your cake on your day.
HOW MANY FLAVORS CAN I HAVE PER TIER?
1 flavor per tier
DO YOU DO FAUX CAKES?
No, unless it is for editorial purposes we do not do faux cakes. The effort in making a cake is in the design, the outside part of the cake. Whether styrofoam or batter, it takes the same amount of time to decorate. Plus styrofoam is not less expensive than cake batter.
DO YOU DELIVER?
Yes, we deliver to all communities inside San Diego City Limits. We service: Point Loma, Ocean Bean, Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Del Mar, Carlsbad, Scripps Ranch, Kearney Mesa, Mission Valley, Clairemont, UTC, Linda Vista, Bay Ho, Old Town, Downtown San Diego, thre East Village, Kensington, Talmadge, North Park, South Park, Golden Hill, Hillcrest, Normal Heights, La Mesa, Spring Valley, National City, Chula Vista, Barrio Logan, Bonita, Coronado, Imperial Beach, El Cajon & Santee.
DO YOU DELIVER OUTSIDE OF SAN DIEGO CITY LIMITS?
We delivery to many communities in the city of San Diego. With the exception of a few areas, we do not deliver to communities in San Diego County In some situations we will deliver to areas not on our regular delivery route, however, the delivery rate doubles.
DO YOU MAKE GROOM'S CAKES?
Yes, we love making groom's cakes!

Yes, and they are very pretty.

There are so many things to say about Malissa and Violet Cake Co. We weren't really sure what we wanted. We had a few ideas but we sat down with Malissa and talked about it. She read us perfectly, she knew exactly what to do to make us happy. Our cake ended up looking just like the drawing she did. I don't think anyone else would have had the patience to listen to all our comments while we made changes and additions. We had so much fun tasting, the flavors we chose were beautiful and delicious and our guests were thrilled. We got so many compliments on our cake. We were able to take the top tier home to our freezer and we plan on enjoying it sometime soon.
Design, taste, communication, planning, everything was amazing. She came through with all of our wishes. If you need a wedding cake in San Diego, there's no better place. I will definitely be coming back for more custom cakes.
